Nasty virus encrypts user data

  Today's Slashdot has an article about a virus which encrypts users' data using a key known only to the virus writer. The attacker then blackmails the victim for a chance to unencrypt the data. That might be worse than just deleting it. Consider it yet one more argument in favour of keeping regular backups. Post new comment |
